|Sand ended up in the pool||The sand is too small for the Pump||Use only #20 grade silica sand with particle size range 0.45-0.85 mm (0.018-0.033 inches) and uniformity coefficient less than 1.75|
|The sand bed is calcified||Discard all the used sand and replace with new sand.|
Note: Disconnect the pump from the electrical outlet before performing any troubleshooting pump.
Symptom 1: Water is leaking from the top of 6 port valve near the valve handle:
Check to see that the O-ring is inserted correctly on the inner lip of the 6-port valve cavity. This usually comes pre-assembled loosely.
Unscrew the dark grey threaded locking ring that is holding down the 6 Port Valve handle (#20) to the top of the 6 Port valve (#10). Please remove the ring entirely.
Lift the 6 port valve handle (lighter grey)(#20) up and out of the 6 port valve (darker grey) (#10).
Check that the large O-ring is seated properly inside the opening of the 6 port valve.
When replacing the 6 Port valve handle, please make sure that you properly align the notch on the handle portion (lighter grey), with the groove in the 6 Port Valve (darker grey). Check that it is seated correctly, as the notch will allow the handle to create a tight seal on top of the O-ring.
Once this is properly aligned and seated; thread the locking ring back over the 6 Port valve handle being careful not to cross thread the locking ring when tightening.
Place this entire 6 port Valve unit back on the Sand Filtration System tank, making sure the bottom Large O-ring is in place before you attach them together with the clamp.
Symptom 2: Pump will not start or stay on and may turn off suddenly on its own.
Hold down the button "test" If you have a GFCI for 30 seconds, then release the button. Press the reset button to start the pump.
Check another appliance or small device, such as a hair dryer. If that doesn't work, the problem is not with the pump and the client should reset their circuit breaker. If the problem persists, call an electrician to check the circuit.
Is the pump hot? Pumps are protected by thermal overload. If the pump gets too hot, the circuit opens and the pump will stop operating until it cools. Please check in the operating times here. For best results, run the pump at night when the temperature is lower.
Symptom 3: There is no water flow or slow water flow:
Check for obstructions at all sites of the hose. You can also look inside hose for debris.
Check to see as air can be trapped inside the hoses. Be sure to backwash the sand before using the pump to clean the pool water. Fix and inspect hoses to prevent captured air pockets.
Symptom 4: Pump is not cleaning the pool (Murky or green tinted water):
Make sure you have the valve set to "Filter" position.
Ensure you have sufficient amount of sand in the canister.
Check for obstructions at all sites of the hoses and strainer at the pool outlet fitting.
Use a chemical substance float device to release and ensure chemical are being released when the pump is not running. Apply to the pool on a regular basis.
Be sure to NOT use the swimming pool cover when the outside temperature too hot. The covered pool will become hot and will create algae.
